Gatherings and Teachings

Sunday, June 11, 2017 – 3:00-5:00 pm, Who Was Lilith? with Mimi Farb
Location: Chochmat HaLev. Cosponsored by The Aquarian Minyan
According to legend, Lilith was the first woman, created even before Eve. She told Adam, “We are equal because we are created from the same earth.” Who is Lilith? Rebel against tyranny? role model for modern women? Vengeful witch? Transgressor?

$10 AQM & CHL members and people under 30, $20 General Public
This dynamic class will explore the story of Lilith as a container for interpretations of powerful women throughout history using classical text and various artistic media to tease out their resonance with our own lives. Participants will engage with the concept of midrash as a personal, artistic mode of Torah interpretation, and have the opportunity to create their own midrashim.
The course is designed to be accessible to all levels of Torah knowledge, from complete beginner to maven. All genders identities welcome!
