Tuesday evening, June 11th: "Scholars, Sages, & Holy Fools"
The Minyan inaugurates a new series, designed to let us hear from community members about their areas of expertise. In the first program, Minyan member Robert Jaffe, an attorney working on the ongoing legal case against the indefinite detention law, which allows the government to detain anybody they deem connected to terrorism indefinitely and without a hearing, will moderate a panel featuring Daniel Ellsberg, a plaintiff in the case.

Celebrate with the Goldfarbs on February 23rd, 9:30 am – 2 pm!

Aquarian Minyan Mitzvah Project

The Jewish Federation created a Mitzvah Day and challenged congregations to do a Tikkun Olam project to commemorate September 11th.  We had several projects to choose from and discussed what we wanted to do at our council meeting on September 8th.  We decided that we want to create a project that is longer in scope, not just for Sept. 11th.  The two ideas we discussed were: 1) bringing mobile Shabbats to underserved members of the Jewish community in Berkeley; 2) after school tutoring at one of the high schools in Berkeley.

Hineni, Here I am! answering the call for myself, my community, my world, and the One.

Hineni, Here I am! answering the call for myself, my community, my world, and the One.
This theme was chosen for the 5772 Aquarian Minyan High Holy Days at the Theme Meeting July 5. Miriam Stampfer, Neal Cronin, Faith Zimmerman, Eric Bergman, Debbie Sarnoff, Bob Jaffe, Abigail Grafton, and Shoshana Dembitz brainstormed about the past year in our personal lives, our community, and our world until we arrived at this theme by consensus.
