ACTIVITIES
Shavuot is traditionally a time for offering one's "first fruits," of the year and receiving revelation. It is customary to stay up all night on Shavuot (Thursday night) to study Torah. There will be time for individuals to share offerings with the group (such as teachings, art, writings, readings, movement, or new revelations) either Thursday night or at other times during the retreat. Everyone is encouraged to participate and bring something to share with the group. If there is an activity or any type of offering that you would like to share at the retreat, please email Miriam(mrgs@vtc.net), Hanna (haco@aol.com) or Marty (Potrop@aol.com) with details (i.e. general description, when during the retreat you would like the activity to take place, and how much time you would like allocated).
REWARDS
Minyan Shavuot Retreats are particularly wonderful opportunities for folks to gather in beautiful natural settings to play together, pray together, and learn together. It's a time to open to revelation for direction in one's personal path and experience each other in an informal, relaxed setting within a spiritual context. It's also a great opportunity for families to spend more time with each other. Shavuot Retreats have played important roles in bonding Community Members and others in love and caring respect. We encourage all who can and so wish to use this opportunity to join us in this retreat.
FEATURED GUEST RABBI LEAH NOVICK
We are blessed with the presence of Rabbi Leah Novick for our preparations to receive Torah. Reb Leah has been a long time participant and leader in the Aquarian Minyan, and a leader of the Jewish Renewal Movement, in which she is one of the few people to have the honor of being a PATHFINDER. She is also a Founder of Ruach Ha Aretz. Among her other valuable work, Reb Leah has opened many people to the sense of Shechinah Consciousness and has done much seminal work on unearthing the contributions of great women Rabbis, Teachers and Rebbetzin throughout our history.
